Common Questions

Do I need an immigration attorney, or can I handle this myself?
Immigration applications are legally complex — a missing document, wrong answer, or missed deadline can result in denial or removal. An attorney ensures your application is complete and accurate. The cost of getting it wrong almost always exceeds the cost of getting it right the first time.
What if my application was already denied?
A denial isn't always the end. Depending on the reason, you may be able to appeal, file a motion to reopen, or pursue an alternative pathway. We review prior denials carefully and advise you honestly on what options remain.
Do I need to come into an office?
No. Botwin Law Firm is 100% virtual, serving clients throughout Florida without in-person visits. Consultations, document review, and communication are all handled remotely — on your schedule.
How long do immigration cases typically take?
It depends on the case type. Some visa applications are processed in weeks; others — like certain family-based petitions — can take months or longer depending on government backlogs. During your consultation, we'll give you a realistic timeline for your specific situation.
What if I or a family member is facing deportation?
Removal proceedings are serious and time-sensitive. If someone in your family is facing removal, you need legal representation as quickly as possible. Our firm is EOIR-registered and can represent you before the immigration court.

Still have questions? We're happy to answer them — at no cost.
